82 Monte Carlo Lowrider. LQ4 with Gen 4 pistons and rods, LS6 intake and factory LS6 injectors, mid length headers, TCI built 4L60e/billet sun gear, planning on LSD with stock 3.08 gears and upgraded axles. The car will be fairly heavy with 3/16” frame reinforcements, 8 Group 31 batteries, 3 hydraulic pumps. It’s a cruiser on 155/80/13” spokes I may stomp on occasionally, not for racing or flogging at the track.

For the Sloppy Stage II- in my circumstance, would the Hughes 512-22-25 2200-2500 stall be suitable or do I need to select a higher speed? I found a great deal on a new Hughes stall for $200 and my motor build starts next week. I haven’t bought a cam year but I think this is the one I want. If not, the Summit 8718 truck. cam. All recommendations welcome.

A SS2, Elgin 1840P, will work great in a 6.0 with a stall in the range if 2200-2500.

I wouldn’t consider that eBay cam, find a genuine Elgin.

If I decided not to cam it right now, would that stall be ok with a stock motor and the trans I have?
Yup.

FWIW, a SS2 is not a big cam in a 6.0. A stock converter would function almost OK in that setup. I put the same cam in a 4.8 with a stock converter - wow, it was terrible. When the converter grabs at 1800 and you're making about 100hp, you know it lol. The difference with the 6.0 is it's making another 50-75hp in the same rpm range.

Regarding the cam swap, if you're going to swap the cam and the motor is out, then there isn't an easier time to do it. LS cam swaps in the car are a PITA, either heads off or dowels to hold up the lifters.

Is this accurate?
