I was looking at a 79 Royal Knight locally (Grand Rapids, MI) for my friend in Belgium but his fiance decided against it because she hates the color blue. Nice, rust free Texas car.
I am thinking of buying it myself. I have the book "How To Install the LS1 Series Engine Into Almost Anything". I also have a friend in the Corvette scrapyard business as a source of LSx engines.
Any drawbacks to doing the swap? Anyone done this?
I have the garage space and the tools. Just need to rent a cherry picker.
Since the car seems to be original should I bag up the 305 that came with it or sell it?

These sites will have all the info you need. You can either keep the fuel injection or swap to a carb setup to keep it simplier. Maliburacing has a ls1 section just for this swap.

There are other alternatives for mounts but brp has made mounts specifically for the gbodys and other vehicles so you know you dont have any fitment issues. You will also need a different oil pan and either a kit to attach the motor to your current trans. It depends on what year motor you have. It just really all depends on your setup on which parts and stuff you will need.
