i bought a set of ls1 calipers and brackets to mount them up but i think the brackets are off a little. does anyone know where i can buy these brackets from? preffer a reputable source.... thanks

front or rear brakes? if front, what kind of spindles? stock, f-body, AFX...

the stock spindles aren't really compatable with any other brakes. it can and has been done with a bunch of fabrication but the s-10 spindles will be MUCH easier. i'm not positive, but i believe the LS1 calipers will bolt right to the later s-10 spindles. if not it'll still be easier to find conversion brackets.

there are actually several conversions for stock spindles, ls1, c5, baer, wilwood..... just to name a few :?

look on the thirdgen f-body webstie and look for Emiller he makes the conversion kits for G & F bodies and will have those brackts. also the s-10 with sealed hub will have a different mounting bracket than the g-body one.

p.s. the stock g-body conversion is cheaper than the s-10 kit, since the s-1o spindels used cost alot more than the g-body ones.

i am running stock g-body spindles with the C5 vette calipers and 13" rotors,

i saw that guy on the protouring forum. is that where you got your brackets from? also what did you do for hubs? i already have the s10 spindles and a pile of g body ones so either one or both?? i have 2 g bodies!

for the hubs i had my old rotors cut down to turn them into hubs, but for the brackets i made them myself out of 1/2" steel. i did the conversion before emiller was making any kit for g-bodies. my local autoparts guy had a brake milling machine so he just put them on there and cut the pad area off the rotors

thats what i did, i dont think an autozone or advance auto parts would be a good place to go though. try a mom and pop parts store, that where i went and had it done.

one thing to remember is that if you go to the C5 brakes then you need at least a 17" rim, the LS1 brakes you need a minimum of 16" rim. even my 17's barely fit over the C5 brakes
