I'm rebuilding a sbc 350 for my 84 cutlass. Getting the block hot tanked and bearing journals line honed. Would I be able to still use standard size main bearings or would I need to have a slightly bigger bearing? The engine was used with nitrous before and is currently burning a little oil so I'm doing a basic rebuild with a little bit of a hotter cam. There is already an edelbrock intake on it and a 650 cfm carb.

As long as the crank isn't getting turned the bearings will remain the same size.

Line honing the main Journals will not change bearing size. All they are doing in milling cap mating surfaces which in turn destroys the bore then they hone it back to factory specs.
