Malibu Bumper Guards

I got my hands on a front and rear set of bumper guards for my 81 malibu. After installing the rear one, I noticed a gap between the bumper guard and fender. Is the guard suppose to sit flush with the bumper?

They should fit tighter then that. These are the ones on my Taxi. Are you sure you don't have them mixed up? Front to Rear, Left to Right???

I placed both right side ones on top of each other and there exactly the same. I'm pretty sure I got two front sets rather than the front and rear. Thanks for the help and the pics.

It's been a while since I had some off and maybe someone else can confirm this...I think the rears are the same left to right and the fronts are different left to right.
They are very hard to find around here. They all rusted away after a few years in the snow.
