I'm new here and I need some info on swapping over to Manual brakes on my 80 malibu wagon, I want to use a GM master cyl. from a previous year if possible,I know I have to fab. a plate on the firewall to adapt the master and need to know also, what brake rod to use,the pedal has a location for a manual master. Thanks Bob

I don't know this for sure, but you may be able to get one off a stripped down model of the S10 with a 4cyl engine. I would use the rod and such from that truck too, and drill a hole in the brake pedal that is about an inch higher than the one for power brakes to give you more mechanical advantage. I have an AMC with manual brakes from the factory and the pedal is double drilled. You won't believe how much difference that inch or so makes in pedal effort!
