Hey guys.

Getting ready to put a 572 into my wagon, but I also want to go with a manual transmission. I would really like to have a 4 speed, but would also accept 5. I'll have around 950 to 1000 ft lbs of torque. The car will be street driven on a fairly regular basis. The only H-pattern I've seen for a reasonable price is the Liberty LSC5100. Does anyone have any other recommendations? Also wanting to stick with cable clutch if possible.

Thanks for your help,
Kevin

Consider a Tremec TKO 5- speed or T6060 6-speed. There is a super-strong version on the market that holds a lot of power.

I hope you have a gym membership for that cable clutch. Your best bet I have to say is do some research with g force and tremec. Have you so considered a manual valve body auto? That would also hold up well

I'll look into the Tremec more, have heard a few bad things about them so I had been steering away from that.

As for the strong clutch, I have worked as a truck driver before, so luckily I have some experience with that haha. I'll definitely look into g-force thanks. I had thought about building an auto, but being that it will be driven on the street a fair amount, I decided that I would prefer to have a proper manual trans. My cruiser is a manual valve body TH400 in a gbody cutlass, and I get bored of that on longer drives.

I have a 4 speed manual going in my 78 behind 650hp small block. Went with Jody's transmissions out of Pennsylvania, really excellent transmission and even better guy. Found him on my team Chevelle website where everyone swears this guy is the best.... He also builds bullet proof 5 speeds as well... He also set me up with a "double clutch" for smooth operation... Good luck

does someone make a cable clutch setup for a gbody? if so, i would like some info please so i can check them out.

Might have to get a hold of those guys, sounds like it could be interesting.

I've seen a few people with cable setups on the internet, I'm hoping to get more info because I've had way too many issues in the past with hydraulics setups.

on long drives I rarely shift unless I want play a bit or stuck in traffic
