Hello, Raven87 again.....

Been working on my olds and found something interesting. On the passenger side kick panel where the ECM(computer)is, there is what looks to me like a MAP sensor. It has a 3 wire pigtail and 1 vacuum line-but no line running to it......
Now there IS a MAP sensor under the hood on the passenger side inner fender that is hooked up and fully functional. Anyone one know why or what this ones purpose is inder the dash???? Should it have a vacuum line running to it because i cannot find it ive looked everywhere under there......

That is the BAR or Barometric pressure sensor.

Ok, thanks for the info....

Does it need a vacuum line running to it though because there is not one....

Nope, it is fine as is.

The Baro sensor senses atmospheric air pressure, not engine vacuum. The carb'd CCC system requires this since atmospheric pressure will affect fuel flow from the float bowl. That's why carbs used at altitude need to be rejetted. The CCC system compensates for this automatically.
