Long Beach, Cali.
Im sure this question has been asked before but i need help, ive read several threads but none of them usually have pictures so its pretty hard to distinguish colors you don't have a picture of. The dash was given to me as a gift from a couple of friends, i honestly don't know what it came out of, according to the guy they bought it from, it was a monte carlo. Not sure of the year or trim, so the color codes by year don't help. Im looking to paint a couple interior pieces i have to match the dash. You can tell the difference right away, but im not sure what color (or color code) to buy due to the fact that i do not know the correct name of the color, any help would be appreciated. Ive attached pictures with and without sunlight for reference. Thanks!

Not sure of the exact name but that color was used in 81 to 84 Monte carlos.

I'm guessing it's claret that you want. It is sometimes hard to tell in the pics. It's close to burgundy, just a bit darker. You can pick up an SEM color coat chart...or you can probably go to your local bodyshop supply with a piece of interior trim and have it color matched.

Claret? Youre referring to the color of the dash right? Im trying to get the brighter color. 😳 Just want to be sure. Mikemontes.com sells spray paint, $18 a can and another $15 to ship to california. :blam: Thanks for your help man!

The dash looks like claret, or oxblood. Unscrew the glovebox door and use it as a color sample if you're not sure. I'm sure you can find someone closer that has, or can mix the color...save the shipping charge.

I hope so, sem paint is hard to get in california due to the our strict regulations on paint. Looks like im going to have to do that instead. Thanks bro, i appreciate the help.

Duplicolor also makes interior paint, but I've used nothing but SEM in my interior, so I can't vouch for the quality of their interior paint.
