maroon interior colors

i have a 84 hurst,i recently found a mint console out of an 87 cutlass salon online,the color looks the same as mine but thats on a picture.i wanted to know if anyone know if its a difference in the maroon,claret,oxblood colors.i heard that they are the same color just different names.

Completely different, 83-84 Hurst had Maple, 85-88 Cutlass/442 had Dark Claret, you'll have to dye it.
BTW, don't ever trust a photo...

Pictures can be deceiving at times...Then again they also say that a picturte is worth a thousand words..ANyways, if you can get it at a good price and it's better then yours, get it...There's not much difference in the colors and I'm sure it will look good either way 8)

maroon, claret might be considered the same, my 85 salon has 79C (claret) interior, and thats darker than the hurst olds dark maple dash,which i think most call claret. sometimes i hear claret called maroon, . the oxblood refers to the carpet color that matches the 79C claret dash/console. its way darker than burgandy carpets that are in the maple/burgandy colored dash cars

note that the floor mats are NOS burgandy......they are definately lighter than the oxblood carpet

My friend has an 83 Hurst Olds with what appears to be the same interior color as my 85 442. :? The Maple color is the 'redish' colored one right? His is definately not the 'redish' color, but I don't recall if it's the perfect match to my 85 442 interior.

Hmm, that's a good list. Didn't know that dark maple was the only "maroon" interior for 84. Never really did much research but I assumed it was just claret lol.
