Hi all,
'84 monte carlo (all stock)
In the shop manual there are pages (see attachment) that talk about measuring voltage at the ECM terminals. I would like to do this but it isn't clear to me how to measure the voltage with the ECM still connected. I'd rather not make a breakout box. I have used backprobes and a multimeter to measure voltage on the back of an electrical connector before but the backs of the connectors to the ECM don't expose their pin conductors. They are protected by a blue plastic cover. It looks like the cover might pop off though.
Does anyone know what method the shop manual assumes we'll use to measure voltages on those pins with the engine running?
I think the column that says "circuit open" could be done with the ECM disconnected but what about the other two?
