mechanical fan clearance

I have been looking high and low for a good electric fan. What do you guys think of fitting this one

I used some 92 Firebird fans mounted them to the top plate and the core support.

thats weird must be the waterpump has a different depht than your old one just my .02 i would go with the firebird fan set up or i think some one on here used a set of fans from dodge intrepid that worked out real well, you can get controlers for any electric fan setup and you gain 5 to 15 hp just getting rid of the clutch fan, thats worth it to me

I am just trying to find the best fit. I actually have the 92 camaro/firebird fans...but I don't like the fact that they have no real shroud. Plus I know the amp draw on a brand new style one would be less.

I just went out to check mine out for ya. I do have a 2" spacer and I actually have closer to 2" between fan and shroud. Maybe me and you can do our electric fan swap at the same time :lol:

those fans you got worked just fine with no shroud on camaro/firebird for 85 through 92 should work just fine on your car and if your alt. is in good working condition it should support those fans no prob, i used a fan from a 96 satrun for my 78 bronco 413m c6 4x4 lifted 300hp no problems no shroud daily driver for 8 yrs no problems with amp draw or overheating

If your looking to go with an electric fan, research the lincoln mark viii fan...Many of us here have done that... 8)

lol I got fed up with this setup already. Guys at flex-a-lite told me I should NOT put a spacer on the style water pump I have. It will wear down the nose cone and end up in catastrophe. So I already called Becool up and ordered their dual fan, relay & mounting hardware for the 62018 radiator I have. I looked into the 16837 Derale fan setup, because it had a little bit more cfm and ended up being about $100 cheaper all said and done. Unfortunately you can't buy from Derale direct...and due to a change in the motor for that part# they are on back order so summit won't even have them in until late next week the Derale guys told me.
