I've got some pics of it's maiden voyage to the track. There is an IHRA sanctioned drag strip 15 minutes from my house. It's only an 1/8th mile, but that's all I need to shake the car down. Made three easy passes and went a 7.02 at 112mph. I had a lot of fun, first time down the track in 33 years. Also a couple of pics of a model a friend sent me in the box. I put it together, and painted it like the car. Came out great. .......................mickey-d

I got talked into going to a car show at Palm Beach International Raceway(Moroso)on August 15th. Some guys with G-body cars and El Camino's from M&M Speed and some friends from ECC who are also M&M guys all convoyed down, or over, or up, depending on where in Florida we came from. We had eleven cars, and won four first place awards. M&M's owner Rich got a first place in his class, Custom Modified Truck with his 84 Choo-Choo, and I won first place in my class, Fat Fender Modified. I was, and still am , totally amazed. My car is a race car, not what I would consider show car quality. I guess it was worth the trip. ................mickey-d

Now, let's see a video of that thing on the drag strip! 😀

I've only made five passes so far on an 1/8th mile track by my house, and they were not full out runs. I have to get used to the electronics, trans brake etc. I have not been in a drag car in over 30 years. Best passes on the 1/8th so far have been a 6:52, and a 6:69, and that was a 4500 launch, and shifting at 6000, pretty much babying the car. Went Bradenton in Florida, and was only able to make two passes, both really easy runs, and ran 10:32, and a 10:02. I think the car will run high 9s on gas, and I have not tried the Nitrous yet. I'm not sure that I want to. It's really hard on the motor, and I don't want to be replacing rod and main bearings every couple of weeks. If I can get it to run consistent 10 flats, It will be a perfect bracket car. We'll see. ..................mickey-d

Nasty Willy's, it looks sick. There's Gasser style one of these running around my town, steel body, it's turqouise with an 2:1 over driven GM 871 blower on a 496 big block chevy with brodix aluminum heads, a leaf sprung shortend full floater D60 rear end and a coil over setup with tubular solid front axle. The guy says it's got over 900 horsepower and it's stupid stupid fast, he said it only gets 3 miles per gallon but runs on regular gas. You can't keep it in a straight line no matter how hard you try if you put your foot into it. Just thought it was awesome, there's a lot of cool cars you see on the street in my town... And I'm not too shy to ask people about them.

I'm jealous of your car.
