This one's for you Nick. Great singer, great movie. They stopped right before the last scene, mercifully.

RIP, Marianne Faithfull
Not sure how I missed hearing of her being alive but that's a very recognizable voice and she's definitely skilled.

Backstory on her is that she goes back to the earliest years of Sir Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones; Mick's girl friend at one point in the saga. Even then she was a great singer in her own right, just that female singers typically got pigeon holed by the Music companies and producers who thought girls should be singing sappy melodramatic love songs or upbeat happy lullabies instead of in your face blues or rock.

She had fantastic resurgence back in the 90's? or thereabouts, Broken English and Working Class Hero both received significant air time in their day. I personally still like them and my taste in music is widely eclectic as Bonnewagon can attest.

Baby Blue, Huh? Mark, there were so many versions of that song, both live and studio, plus the covers, that I actually just sat and listened to one variant while I picked and logged that play list. I actually think that it was one of the songs that she sang from that particular live performance that I came across and tagged. Right Now You Tube is getting weirder and weirder in terms of accessing vintage and classic music in the genres that I like. Probably a case of some tin ear that thinks grunge and rap are worth putting wear on a turntable needle.

So, Morning music, hmmm?

Best version exerpt? Watch BattleShip, The full Movie not the video game.

And a little something more from the stacks.................
