What is the minimum amount of hoses and stuff should I hook up to my sbc to make it run strong??.......can I plug the hole in the manifold behind the carb and if I do will I still have enough vacume....

vaccume hoses or total hoses? for vaccume hoses you NEED distrib, brake booster, trans. well thats if you have a vaccume advance dist, a th350, and power assist brakes. other wise i dunno.
you want your dist to ported vacuum on the carb
and the transmission goes to the manifold
and if you want to keep your hvac going you want to put that line on the same one as the trans modulator

The MINIMUM number is zero, with manual brakes and mechanical advance distributor. Add one for a power brake booster, one for vacuum advance, and one for trans modulator if equipped.

By the way, adding or removing vacuum lines will have no effect on your vacuum unless one is leaking.
