Thanks so much! All mirrors used for '78-'85 are in the same location. '86 up Chevy's were the only cars that had a change in location to use the newer style like what the 3rd gen Camaro & C4 Vette was using. Best source will be any Malibu & '78-'85 El Camino obviously. There is a posting on mirror interchanges for what other models use the same mirror with the right pedestal.
I did the same. I bet just moving the bullet mirrors up would have looked a lot better, and be more functional though.I have a 79 Malibu and the factory location for the passenger mirror seemed to be too far back and needed to be moved forward or the driver's seat needed to be all the way back in order to see out of it. I replaced mine with the late model El Camino mirrors and moved them both forward. I took the measurements off the El Camino.
It would be more functional however, I like the look of the later model SS type mirrors.I did the same. I bet just moving the bullet mirrors up would have looked a lot better, and be more functional though.
The newer mirrors look a lot better. I got mine from a fiero. It would be more functional however, I like the look of the later model SS type mirrors.
