Nice! Glad you were able to get it cheap. I know finding cars in your area is tough with all the salt that flies around in the winter. I should know. Born in Baltimore, grew up just outside the city limits in Essex and Rosedale.

Where are you in the B'more area?

Ah, cool my sister's house is in Catonsville. She has been there since the early 90s when she and my bro in law moved outta Essex and bought a house in Catonsville right off Edmonson Ave just outside the beltway.

Looking forward to seeing progress on the Monte!

Any suggestions on battery location?

For convenience the driver side after the rear is more ideal but will require more routing of the wires.

Over the rear is ideal for traction and I’ll be able to route the wires cleaner.

Also, I’m going to mount a battery disconnect on the outside. There’s not many spots. I’d hate to drill a hole in the tail light and the lower portion of the bumper is pretty low.

The way I was going to do it on my Monte was mount a push/pull arm to the switch but have it come out where the license plate is and remove the arm to drive home, either use the stay down license plate holder or just remove the license plate for the track.

Use a relay rather than the switch. Much cleaner outside and no holes. My kill switch is installed in place of a license plate light. I put the battery on top of the axle in the middle. I can't say it's ideal, but it's easy and left room the wiring on one side and the CO2 on the other 😉

After doing some research I think that’s what I’m going to do! Place the battery right over the center of the rear.

I am going to sump a EFI tank. Do you guys use the factory sending units or the non-EFI sending units?
