I am planning on swaping an LS3 into a 83-88 Monte Carlo SS and I want to use the Chevy Performance 19212593 oil pan kit but not sure if it will hang too low. Any help is most appreciated.

I used 1” setback plates and an ls6 cts-v pan. Hangs down about 1/2”.

The LH8 pan hangs lower than other options, namely F-body, Holley 302-2 and - 3. Skip it unless you want a poorly chosen risk.

Stock pan looks to be about 8" deep from the pan rail to the bottom of the pan. The GM LS pan kit will probably hang a bit lower since the block mating surface is below the crankshaft centerline. If you know the dimension from centerline to the bottom of the block that should tell you how much more it will hang down.

Whats better the LS1 pan or the Holley 302-3? Both seem like good options. For the LS1 pan I will have to buy everything individually but Jegs has a kit for the Holley 302-3 that comes with i think just about everything.

What pick up tube, dipstick and windage tray works with the CTS-v pan?

I promise I’m not trying to be a smartass, but a CTS-V was an actual GM model. All the parts you’re asking about came from a CTS-V. The only difference between the different year LS6 CTS-V pans is the thread on the oil filter. Just go with a 2007 CTS-V for all parts and you’ll be good.
