monte SS Stock head casting #

i just bought an 87 monte ss and it has a 305 in it but im not sure if its the factory one. the engine mounts are new so its been swapped i was wondering if anyone knew what the head casting #'s were (or any othe distinguishing factor) that would tell me more about the engines stock power levels. thanks -Pat

the casting numbers for the monte SS H.O heads is 416 from 84-86 and i think it's 081 for the 87-88 (not 100% on them tho)

awesome thanks! ill look tonight. what would happen if i put these heads on a 350? would it be worth it? i would onlt have time and gaskets invested.

305 heads have smaller chambers so the CR would go up, but they also have extremely small ports and valves so the engine won't breathe. not worth it.

that's the good thing with the H.O heads they have the same runner size of the 350 heads of the same time
if you have no choice i would use them but it would alwayz be better to find a older set of double hump heads
