Just wanted to speak with someone who has done this swap??? I'll make it fit, but if you know of a short cut or what's involved, it would be useful info to me. Maybe I can help out with something your into or looking for. thanks for taking the time to read this, good luck with your own project> ted in toronto.

The Monte SS clip will not fit on the Malibu body. The Monte front clip is slightly wider than the Malibu. You need to find an El Camino SS front clip.
I think that there still marketed by a company called Honest Charley's in the States.

It will bolt up, but its body lines you have to worry about. You would have to swap the fenders and doors, then blend the doors in to the elky quarters. I've seen it done and it is kind of neat having the Monte swooping body line on the front half of an elky, but its MUCH easier to get an Elky SS front clip - and yes they are narrower and shaped a fair bit differently when you have a good look at them.

you can get the SS nose as well as a few other cool looking noses from Lauren engineering www.laureneng.com

I am in the process of doing this swap to an 80 el camino SS.. You will need the front clip and doors. The hard part is the monte lower body lines are different.. I am using lower door skins for a malibu/el camino, and welding them on to the bottom of the monte doors.. I am also using a malibu/el camino lower fender (the part right in front of the doors), and welding that on to the monte fender.. And obviously the door windows will need to be swapped. I hope this helps you out.
