I almost always use Taylor wires but I can get a nice deal on a package deal.

Olds distributor and a set of pre made Moroso 8mm spiral core wires

Anyone using the Moroso wires???

Has anyone ever used them and no longer do???

Are they decent or junk???

Thanks

I have never heard anything bad about the Moroso's but I have never been a fan of precut wires I like make my own and route them the way I want them.

If they are the ultra 40 wires I was going to use a set on my 565. But wound up with msd 8.5 wires instead

I used the ultra 40 shielded wires for a few years but read some place they are not that good to use an a street car. All our circle track cars used those wires without any issues.

Moroso was started in 1968 by Dick Moroso, one of the most successful modified production drag racers on record. Dick left his racing career to design, test and manufacture specialized products aimed exclusively at racer's needs. The performance world quickly recognized that Moroso products were a cut above the others because they were designed and built for racers - by a racer!

The above blurb is copied from the Moroso website. Moroso's original speed shop was located in Darien, Conn.. When I got my first hot rod, a white 65 GTO (389 ci - 3 duece - Muncie 4 speed - 10 bolt posi) I used to drive from my home in Stamford to Darien about twice a week, just to hang around at the back of the racer crowd that was ALWAYS there. These guys were the local hot rod heroes and they were all in one place. It was awesome.

As for his products, they were manufactured by others to his specifications. I ran his wires for about twenty years and never had an issue. They finally got more expensive than I thought they should be and I switched to Accel, which by the way, used to be made in Conn. by a company called Eckland.
There are some 8.5 mm wires out there now that I will be trying as soon as I need wires.
