Ok guys I plan on pulling my motor out next week and putting a full gasket set on it. I want to do a motor swap but not really cost effective with gas prices. I have 78 buick regal with a chevy 305 motor.

I am studying to be a auto technician but we havent made it to engine overhaul yet. My question for all the people out there is what do I need to disconnect to get the motor out the car? IE...starter wire and so forth. Car is carb.

I would also take a digital camera and document everything from every angle as you disassemble it. That way, you have a photographic record of how it all goes back together.

Just to reinforce what has already been said, because it is so correct, take your time and document/label/keep everything in order; when you take out the motor. It will save you loads of time and headache this way.
