So, I got a line on this engine. Guy doesn't seem to know much about it. It's two hours away so all I have to go on are these 2 pics. Won't get the ID numbers off it till I get there, any clues in the pics to let me know what to expect? IMG_0126.jpg IMG_0129.jpg

With those two pictures I would expect it to be a 307 with chrome valve covers. Could be a 350 though. Hard to tell without the casting numbers.

It has a points type distributor in it, or an aftermarket one. That's a non Hei, that's for sure. But yeah, literally no more info can be gathered without the numbers.

What ever it is it looks like it has been sitting out in the open for a good while.

Wouldn't be surprised if it is locked up to with the way that rust looks.

Supposedly it's a 350 with 5a heads😵
Had an MSD box that comes with it and some other stuff.
The price of admission is right, but it's starting, I can feel it.
Just like restoring my Willys, vintage snowmobiles, and my Corvair; I just start rounding up piles of stuff that I may need someday...........

In case you can't see 'em: Block # 395558
Heads #397742 On the rocker cover rail by each set of valves is a dimension written in Black sharpie.(like .632)
From the oil fill tube and pad on the block it's a 1969 350.
Story I got was it had a past history as a drag car motor.
Haven't pulled the pan or heads, but I do see the crossovers in the head have been plugged, had an MSD ignition on it, and fuel pump blocked off. Should make a good start for a build.
Came with w/pump pulley, some brackets and a set of headers too......

Will it turn?
