tried a search, with no luck.

i have an 81 olds cutlass calais, removed olds drive train and am installing sbc drive train.

i am pretty sure motor mounts have to be replaced...and are in different location on frame. i am not sure which holes to use in frame.

you need chevy motor mounts. and they should only fit one way. one corner will overhand, forward of the subframe.

i have the mounts...and thats the way it looked to me. but was not sure if it was correct.
so i will only have 3 bolts holding it to frame...right?

thanks for reply, it's been drivin me nuts all day...tryin to google info on it most of day.

yep, 2 bolts up top and one on the bottom. the mounts are left and right sided and the differences are pretty small.

good luck with the swap man, what trans will you be using?

i am using a 700r4 trans.

i have owned this car for 23 yrs, the motor came outta a silverado i bought new in 88. i sold truck to my dad in 91, when he hit 210,000 miles he bought a remanufactured engine and i helped him swap.

so this engine has sat in barn for last 10+yrs. i took it to machine shop...went .030 over and completely rebuilt it...picked up a well used, but running 92 silverado sport... for the trans ( u wouldn't believe what a trans shop wants for a 700r4) and any other goodies i may need ( starter, serpentine belt set up ect, ect.)

so this set up is pretty cool to me (and my dad), i am getting pretty antsy to get it running.

cool, sounds like a good setup... 8) any questions feel free to ask

right on,
according to your sig line, looks like we have a very similar set up.

i will be using hei, shorty headers, air gap intake, roller rockers and a holley 650 carb.

what kinda mess am i looking at...using this 700r4 trans? i know i gotta get a controller for electric lock up torque converter. but what about driveshaft and crossmember?

thanks for help....i appreciate it.
