I have an 84 El Camino with a 305 and am trying to install an 85 or later 350 block. The original clam shell mounts have new Energy Suspension inserts, correctly installed. Now the 350 block won't fit. Tried loosening to clam shells for clearance, but with one bolt in place the other mount bolt is about 1/2" too far toward the wheel to fit-up. Anyone had a similar problem?

Bump. Old post. Probably figured it out already but I had the same problem on mine and figured out I had them backwards. Flipped them around and problem solved :lol:
