I've got a 355 sbc to put in my 84 cutlass. About a week ago I went to the parts store for the motor mounts for the swap and I opened the them up today and realized the guy sold me the same ones I had on the old 307, even though he acted like he knew that i was swapping a chevy in an olds. Can someone show me what I need.

Just ask for a set of motor mounts for a Monte Carlo with a 305 in it. You need the ones on the frame right?

I guess so, but don't the chevy mounts attach to the frame as same as the olds mounts?

Like previously stated you need the mounts for a monte carlo. On a chevy the motor has what some call clam shells it just a metal plate that bolts to the motor. The rubber portion or motor mount bolts directly to frame. If you need the motor portion i have a set i will let go for $30 shipped not easy to find now adays.

Let's see if I've got this right...

These are the rubber insert mounts

These are the clam shells that fit over the rubber mounts
This is what bolts directly to the frame?

if so how do i reach the bolt from inside the frame?

You can get to bolts through the bottom of frame where lower Aarm bolts to crossmember with a long extension. The mount you put picture of the one you asked if this is the one that bolts to motor is not it. You need the one posted in picture after that. They are the clamshell mounts you will need.

Ok thanks,
Now will the chevy mounts bolt up to existing holes on the frame?
