hey i got a regal with a 3.8 in it and friend of mine has an awesome running 88 lesabre with a 307, i was wondering if the motor mounts would fit in the regal and if i could use the exhaust manifolds and front accessaries

pretty much would it just be a pull out of the lasabre and drop into the regal or is there alot more to it then that

Buick and olds mounts are different. Ive heard of people using buick mounts on an olds motor, but I wouldnt suggest it. You need 307 frame mounts, brackets, manifolds...etc. Trans should bolt right up. Fuel line is on the other side of the engine, so it will have to be rerouted. The battery should be moved to the drivers side to simplify wiring up the starter. Its not a hard swap, but it does take a bit of planning and some parts.

he wants 500 bucks and its sitting on aluminum wheels so i look at it like 400 + it has the old school copper radiator theres another 20 in scrap value,,, an extra battery, good trans, etc... motor isnt a speed demon but very smooth and runs like a rolex, like an olds should

i cant use the frame mounts from the 88 lesabre wagon? hes pretty much giving me the car this is why im looking at this option
Yes....those frame mounts should work.... if they are the same as Gbody mounts. A cam will help some, but you will need better exhaust to help it breath.

The engine and trans probably should stay together, which would make the swap easier....just my advice since its in good shape.

i dont know what kinda trans it has but the 200r4 in mine is still in very good shape i want overdrive and it has 8 1/2 rear end posi

for exhaust i was gonna leave the duals my car has now and just pay a muffler shop 80 bucks to route them to the manifolds, if the stock ones have that stupid crossover like i think it has il just cut and have them weld into the pipes would that work? for a cheap decent exhaust with true duals

Oh...I didnt know you had duals already. I think the hook ups would be close to the same for both, but the shop can fix whatever is different. All v-6/v-8 stock engines have crossovers and single exausts.
