I have all that I need to make the swap to the intrepid fans now, but I'm hung up on one thing... bow to mount them. Theres 2 diferent styles and this is mine:

I don't want it to look hack so zip-ties are not an option, and I don't really want to drill into the plastic surround unless it won't be visible. I want it to look factory. I can't really mock it up as the olds is kinda my DD right now. if someone else did this, could you shed some light for me?

I showed how mine are installed here using a Cutlass top plate and making one too, They fit perfect with minor trimming of the shroud....

If you want it to look factory, think about nipping and cutting them to fit *in* your shroud.

I custom bend thin aluminum brackets and used rivets to secure the fan top and bottom.

thats a good idea^^

Thanks 85GP, missed that somehow when i searched. So that bottom bracket you made just puts pressure up and holds the fan assembly under the lip of the top plate?

Yeah pretty much even though they were pretty well secured without it but lifted a bit off the radiator when the top plate was tightened. Not much though. It took a bit to fab up and I'm going to paint it black or polish it......lol
