MSD blaster coil horizontal

Hey guys I just mount my MSD 6al and blaster coil, but I mounted the blaster horizontal. Then I look in the instructions and it “recommended to mount it in a upright position” will it work horizontal or do I have to have it upright thx for ur input.

If you turn it sideways you expose part of the winding out of the oil. It will work, for how long who knows, but you run the risk of overheating the winding and it finally giving up. I would always install the coil vertical.

I do that alot, read instrutions after the fact cause I know better but I have paid the price for my ignorance too often.... 😡

I have the msd blaster high vibration coil #8222 on my k10 truck, the coils are "potted in epoxy". The instructions say it can be mounted in any position.
