how much does something like that run and is $140 a good deal for a 6al box?

an msd runs about $270 at parts store and $200 from summit. So it is a good deal if the box is still good.

how is the limiter adjusted on those modules? so will i not really see any gains at all with the msd box? is really just one of those things where you can say that you have it? like i said i have a brand new mallory hei setup (billet dist, module, cap, rotor, and coil)

gotto hook it up as far as i know or have ever heard

I test on a spare distributor. But it must be hooked up to a batt and wired up correctly, I use alligator clips and pre-made test wires. I keep the coil/cap seperated from the dist and have a big ground wire held an inch away from the coil output that the rotor rides on. It might be too much for you to rig up, but that's how I do it, and that spark WILL ZAP YOU if you let it. So be carefull.
