I asked this before lol but now I'm set on it and ready to buy a muffler now, the cars all done now, insured, registered, and on the road.

Now I have a 307 (7A heads) all stock, no duals. Single pipe, no X or H pipe, has the cat and all that stuff lol.

Muffler 2.5inch inlet/outlet

I was really looking into the Cherrybomb glasspacks (29inch one) but now searching through YouTube I was watching a few videos of the Flowmaster Super 44 series and the 40 series. They sound good, more of a muscle car sound compared to the glasspacks. I don't know what to pick, yes the glasspacks are cheap like $38 compared to $84 for a Flowmaster super 44 series muffler. I want a traditional muscle car sound. A muffler that will make it sound aggressive and loud. So I'm kinda leaning towards the 44's right now but I'm not sure.

What sounds the best on a stock 307? I would like loud and aggressive, also a nice sounding idle. For those of you with a 307 what are you running on it?

I was being really indecisive about what I was going to do but I'm just gonna put a muffler on it and be done with it. The car has a lot of miles too so I don't want to put a lot of money into the car just to be disappointed because it's a 307. So just gonna get a muffler.

Thanks, Anthony

I would for sure go with flowmaster, glass packs sound corny and cheap IMO, plus flowmaster has lifetime warranty. id also check out the 40 series muffler, a little more agressive sounding then the supers. Magnaflow, borla, mbrp are also other excellent choices!

This is what I just bought, it mounts in the same place as your current muffler, and just runs two pipes out to either side right behind the rear wheel. Single inlet, dual outlet.

Thrush arent bad either, and less than half the cost if flowmaster.

The 40 series is pretty loud too right? The muffler is replacing the stock one, same spot as well.

I have a 40 series on my stock el camino with a 305 in it. I have fake duals on it and it sounds really good. There is a video link in my signature thing

Been researching this topic myself lately. Super 40 and Super 44 Flowmaster are louder and more aggressive than their standard 40 series muffler. The Super 10 being the loudest, most aggressive and according to youtube videos and Flowmasters website, is really only for strip applications, otherwise you run the risk of drawing attention from the law.

I have also looked into Spintech mufflers. Two of my buddies run them and they sound mean at idle and on the throttle. From what I have read the biggest difference between the Flowmasters and Spintechs is that the Spintechs drone less and therefore create less noise on the inside of the vehicle.

I'm leaning towards the Flowmaster Super 44s because they come in a black case, Summit carries them and offers free shipping.

My buddy has the super 10s on his chrysler 300 with the hemi, and it sounds mean, true duels with no cats, its not really that loud (compared to some vehicles where i am) but sounds great!

40 is aggressive-sounding but considering the placement you shouldn't get too much droning. Not that I'm complaining (I'm running 40-series Delta-flows on the '86) as EVERY exhaust, even stock, will drone at certain RPM.

I would avoid the long-a glass-pack, may sound like a fart-can.
