I picked this up from a local guy, told me it was an old bracket racer buddies transmission but he passed away a couple years ago. He told me it was a pretty serious transmission but he didn't know much about it, and neither did I. Didn't matter much to me as I was gonna learn how much transmission rebuilds are with it. Well, as we tore it down, we found that this is an extremely not road friendly transmission. No modulation, trans brake, gonna be all go all the time. Didn't seem to be ran more than maybe a few times, all the clutches are in great shape, its seemingly had some other modifications done to it. Being this was my first rebuild, I elected a family friend who rebuild GM transmission in the 80s for a living. For like a decade all he did was transmission rebuilds and is a current GM master-tech. I am confident this thing is ready to rock.
Also, this wasn't just a "looks good, throw is back together" situation. We tore it town, cleaned everything, replaced EVERY seal there is, checked all the bushings (all were good except the front pump bushing, so it was replaced), it was just as much me trying to learn as much as I could while putting together a solid transmission.
I'm listing this at loosely at $1000, very OBO. Can figure out shipping if someone is seriously interested.
So again, very much 100% balls manual valve body turbo 400. Would not be very street friendly unless you yourself are not street friendly.
I have pics of just about every part if anyone is interested, and Ill add some more just have to get going for Christmas stuff right now.
