I love this car. Havent had it but about 2 months now. Trying to save it from the previous owner. When I got it from second owner (his grandad bought new and handed down) he had painted hot rod black (flat) which i liked. But he had painted on webs and the name Christine across the back deck.. Horrible.. I added the 442 wheels and hope to find a grill to match soon. And my 307 was shot tired and wore the f out by neglect from previous owner! So what did i do? Engine swap of course! See pics below.. I put a Kenwood deck and full Infinity Audio system. 2 12" reference subs w/ Orion 800w amp 2 infinity reference 6x9s in rear deck panel and 2 kappa 3.5" in front dash. I also own a 1970 Cutlass Supreme SX built 455 and my baby!! Pics to come later..

Its a 71 Rocket 350 (got to stay olds) w/ 11k on complete rebuild from my friend who put a 455 in his 71 cutlass. I decided to go all out with it or as all out as i could do currently and bought her a brand new edelbrock 1411 carb and perfromer intake manifold. Went w/ HEI distribuitor to elminate the computer controlled carb from my 85. Bought hedman full length headers and full Flowmaster dual exhaust w/ x pipe no cat anymore. Added chrome pulley and new water pump and a mini starter to help clear heads and more amps too. Im going to hopefully find a 442 grill and change the interior over to buckets and console which i hate to do cause my interior is like new in car but its what i like. Ive got alot of ideas and info off this site as Ive been researching and looking at pics for over a month prior to joining. Thanks for all the great info and pics to look at. I should be done w/ my swap this sunday..Hopefully if all goes well.. Then I will be repainting the car.

And heres a teaser of my 71. Doesnt really fit here but I love this car its my life and always take any oppertunity i can to wh*re her out lol!

Went to test fit the Hedman headers on block today and it was total disapointment. Must have made mine on a friday at 430 as the right side header wasnt bent properly to clear oil pan or even bolt to block. I will not make a negative comment on company as a whole just that i will not buy their product again. I will say that jegs customer support is great and only disapointment that i will have to wait about a week or more to get my money back. Engine goes in tomorrow morning sadly w/ stock manifolds..

not much love here huh? any comments opinions etc are appreciated its ok to bash the car if you want its my project and i appreciate the criticism

Welcome! Beautiful Olds' you have........both of them. Enjoy the forum.....believe it or not, there are a lot of friendly, knowledgable folks here.

Man i can basterdize my olds w/ anything but a original rocket! lol and sorry for lack of knowledge but rally gauges? I did buy the auto meter 3 gauage temp oil and amp setup that im doing w/ swap

nevermind after quick search on ebay i found what your talking about and actually may buy it this evening to add on car. thanks man great idea!

Engine swap done this weekend. Lot of frustration w/ parts not fitting. The edelbrock carb wouldnt fit on the intake manifold the throttle arm kept hitting the manifold just below the egr block off plate. So I switched carb to a holly 670. Now im trying to work out the kick down. It doesnt want to shift properly. Seems that my adapter is allowing enough slack in the line. So i may need to buy a different adapter other than the holley adapter I bought that was supposed to work w/ my trans. But there are 2 holes to use and Ive only tried one so im switching to the other one tomorrow and see how she does. I had exhaust put on yesterday. Straight pipes off manifold to two flowmaster 40 series mufflers and chrome tips out rear. 2.5" all the way to my tips which are 3". It was a fun project although aggrevating at some points. But I learned alot as i had never done anything like this before. Now looking to repaint car and add 442 style grill
