First bought by prior owner, less engine

SBC that was built for it

After SBC intalled and still before I bought it. Looked very nice!

After I bought and started to prep for paint....The way I bought the car was nice, but it could use a fresh paint job. I started sanding the passenger door and it had bondo all over it. So I replaced the door with another, much straighter one.

Nice car. Why do sbc guys waste any money on old junk heads? You can get modern chamber heads that flow the same or better plus save weight. Just doesn't make sense.

Its a post like these that make guys not bother posting up their projects . Rant in you own tread .

Nice car hope to see it finished.

While on a personal level it makes me sigh that a restoration goes with an unimaginative SBC, I do find a positive in that another Oldsmobile is saved. Enjoy the car, though.

I understand your point but at the same time why did we put #5 heads on our sbo when there's options like aluminum heads out there, thats probably how a sbc guy looks at a b.o.p. guy. Me personally I have a sbc, sbo & sbb in my stable.

Thanks, comments like that keep me motivated!

And to a certain degree I understand the whole sbc with old style heads in an Oldsmobile. But you know what, that's how I bought it and I am certainly not complaining the way it's built. The guy did a very nice job with it, and I hope to only make it that much nicer as a street/ cruiser car. Thanks for the positive comments!

And to olds307 and 403 we're all car guys here, you don't have to be an ******* with comments like that.

Next move way down the line will be a nice well built BBO. But for now, the sbc is plenty of fun!

We have three aftermarket heads for the Olds, smallest is 188cc intake runner and 77cc chambers. Fine for my plans or a 10 to 1 compresion Olds 350. Problem is you to remove 10cc from the chambers to get 10 to 1. There are Vortec heads pus many better heads than the Camel hump heads for similar cost or cheaper. That is my point, not being an *ss, telling the truth. The #5 SBO flows about the same as the Camel hump heads, we just have fewer choices. Not ragging on you, you bought it that way.
