Just an update on my car.....Keep in mind this was my first paint job ever. First time buffing too. Haha.....I'm pretty happy the way it has turned out. I have more pics, but I just felt like posting the most recent.

Beautiful job! You should be proud. It appears you stuck with the factory dark teal blue metallic color. To me the best color the 442 ever came in!

Thank you! Yes, it is the factory metallic blue. I wanted to keep the car original looking, but I am not trying to do a era correct restoration either.

Let me get this right. You painted this car(first time hvlp) and the car turned out this nice. You did an amazing job!

Did you paint in a booth?

Use a base coat clear coat right?

HAha. Yes, first time with an HVLP or any spray gun for that matter. It is a two stage paint system. I used SPI products for everything other than base. For the base, I used Dupont Nason. I sprayed the car right there in the garage where it sits. I washed and wet down the floor and walls. Put filters in the vents in the ceiling, and had an exhaust fan pulling the vapors out.
Gun is a Devillbiss finish line 4.

All said and done, I have about $1750 into the body work, paint, and decals. And the pride to say I did it all myself!

Hats off to you! I have the ability to get all the items at cost and I am so timid at doing this myself and doing it wrong. So I essentially can do it very cheap. I should try to do this on my own like you did!!
