It is the 2.56 gears mine came with them as well. The Olds 260 in my 88 is the same way, torquey down low and nothing up top. The 260 has similar sized ports, just raised higher in the head. I wish I had kept the SP2P intake and the stock good 76 350 Qjet I had to put on it, really would have been nearly ideal and definitely been an improvement over the Dualjet.It doesn't have 3.08:1 gears.
It's a highway gear. I forget what it is.
