You have to remember that it is an old car and most people just aren't anal enough to deal with minor details. The parts you think are so bad I would jump for joy to have as they are in far better shape than you can find in most cases. As far as it goes, drive it and enjoy it. Unless it's some rare model and only used for shows, most people will just think it's a nice old Cutlass and not think to see the flaws you are pointing out. It took me a while to come to that realization about my own car, but I am happier with it when I see it as "just another car" in some ways than as the holy and sacred thing I used to treat it as.

LOL Anal Huh? I guess I am... Not really you should see my 68 chevy pickup as a daily driver...LOL

Actually, I guess that it's just years of working with Dad and his show cars, perfection was always a must. In addition I've bought and sold well over a dozen Monte Carlo's over the years and simple things like I've mentioned will significantly increase selling price of a car. If you look at it and see that the little details were not missed then it leads a buyer to believe he is getting a well taken care of car.

I'm not planning on selling it, it's just my nature. So ANAL I guess I am. I think I'm going to try and buff out that tail light and I'll buy some backup lights and try painting them... we will see how it turns out..

Thanks for all the comments.. now if the dam thunderstoms and hail would stop I could get it out of the garage..

Well, it wasn't meant as an insult, just a descriptive of the average person. I am someone who spent an hour sanding all the scratches off my lock cylinders and then machine polishing them before installation. However, my taillights are less than perfect due to the cost of really nice ones. I find it aggravating, but not worth the money to fix unless a perfect set falls in my lap.

I didn't take it that way... I was laughing cause it's probally true.

I know several folks that have had great luck with polishing their plastic lens. I just didn't want to try it on the ONLY one I have. But I'm fighting with someone on e-bay for a set to practice on but it's probally going to go to high for me to continue.

So I'll send you my lock cylinders for buff and polish seeing how your the expert...LOL
