Pulled the interior out so I could get the carpet out and see how bad this car is and I’m very surprised I think I saved it just in time. Floor just has a little surface rust. Will get some rust reformer and get it treated before I reinstall the carpet. Will probably get that all pressure washed and cleaned up this weekend

Your car is a factory defect, your floor is missing all the scattered vent holes that suppose to be there. ;)

So today I also decided to say goodbye to the vinyl top and see what treasures lie underneath. The vinyl top was actually added on by someone it didn’t have the correct pieces that went by the rear windows that hold it. So I scraped it all off and did find a few spots along the rear window channel that will have to be repaired. But I don’t think it’s to the point that it’ll have to become a convertible lol. I did find a cut up 83 regal body that I’m waiting on the guy to send me pictures of as I think I can possibly cut out and weld in some new pieces of metal and all will be well. I just hate to part this car out because of a few little rust holes. I figure if the roof doesn’t come out perfect I can always reinstall a new top later on

So now I have a complete 83 regal body minus doors, rockers, firewall and floorpan. This will give me all the channel pieces I need for the cutlass without spending a ton of time handmaking them plus I’ll have a lot of other good sheetmetal some I can cut up for other projects but the trunk lid, hood and fenders are in ok shape.

Doesn't surprise me. That tarp on it probably made it worse. Mine turned out really nice and it had some rot.

I think it will come out nice once I start the repairs i will probably have it on the back burner for a little bit as I want my Regal back on the road this year and I would like to start work on my new garage
