My SS Monte story

Back during the 1st restoration I had removed the entire heater box so that I could blast and paint the entire firewall. I trudged through quite a few boneyards looking for a G.body that didn't come with A/C. When i came the the conclusion that they all had A/C. And just put mine back in. So this looks great were do I get one?
GbodyParts is one source, they run about $190 but other vendors sell them so you can shop around for the best price, I modified a non AC case for my Monte since there was no way I was putting one of those flat block off plates on.

Well in that case you might want to possibly carry over the clean look with an aftermarket heater case like this below to help the look.
You don't have to make it functional but it would look like it is.

I wish these guys would make a modified/more clearance AC box already!!!!!

YES. I would kill for an ac box that was maybe 2 inches narrower. SBB are very wide. I have maybe 1/4 inch on that side.

Brakes don't even look worn!! 🙂

Welcome and very nicely done. Sentimental value always makes you go a bit overboard.

Very nice MCSS. My favorite color combo.

That sounds like a lot of rust replacement work for 5 years of being driven in bad conditions

It sounds like you underwent the original restoration at the right time as far as part availability.

after stripping the paint from the body i did end up cutting out and patching a small area in front of the tire on the bottom of left rear quarter. besides that the only other rust issue was on the bottom seam of the doors which i took care of when i put the new skins on.
