Didnt know how to move a thread to a different section or how to delete a thread... but anyways... so, as said before, i have no experience working on trans, tc, flexplate... guessing to pull the tc back i just take out bolt in picture??? i really hope its something simple to fix, i blew all my money on chrome crap i didnt need... speaking of chrome crap i dont need, does anyone know where i can get a chrome radiator cover for an 82 monte ss?

Yes, pull that bolt, there are three of them. Pull one, turn the motor over by hand, either a wrench on the crank bolt or they make a tool to turn the flex plate. Remove the others. Then just slide the converter as far back as you can. Probably 1/4" maybe.
 
THANKS GUYS... ok, i cant express enough how much i hate crawling under a car on jacks/stands... lol... and my car is too low to drive onto ramps... so i jacked up the car and slid the ramps under the tires... but anyways, pulled the tc back, about a half inch, started her up, and she seemed to quiet down, just to be sure, i am going to drop the oil pan and check the rods... but, while i was under there, i decided to replace the old worn fraying TV cable... TRANS FLUID MAKES A HELL OF A MESS... but, my trans shifts B-E-A-UTIFULLY.... to think i drove her for so long thinking my trans was blown... but the fluid was always clean...
