Looks like you already have most of the parts for a solid 305 build. What that motor needs now is a set of heads. You have a couple decent choices for 305 heads. The route I took on my car was a set of 305 vortec heads that I picked up really cheap on ebay. If I remember correctly you are looking for 520 casting number heads. You will need a vortec intake manifold and self-aligning rockers for a vortec swap, though. Another good option is a set of world torquer 305 heads. They flow decent, have the largest valves you can put in your car (1.94) with the cam you have, and come with 58cc chambers. You can also keep your current intake with the torquer 305 heads, so that's a bonus.

If you can find a pair of heads cheap you can have some fun pounding on this engine for a bit while you plan your next build.

Wat part of maryland ur in? And thanks for the advice

I know a lot of you may think that a 305 with 350 heads are worthless, hilarious or just plain stupid but a buddy of mine has a 85 ss monte with the 305. i put a set of shaved camel hump heads 2.02/1.68 with roller rockers on it and flat top pistons, stroker crank and rods from eagle. cam was comp from jegs (not sure about the ratings) full length headers with 3 inch collectors dual 2.5. edelbrok intake, with a 750 edelbrok carb. 200r4 transmission w/mild shift kit and 2000 stall convertor. 3.55 richmond gears and eaton posi with 28x15 mickey thompson et street's. the car runs in the mid 12's in the 1/4.
How much was the head milled down?
Ill have to ask him again. I did the job almost 2 years ago now. I do remember the machinist saying that any further machining would of ruined the water jackets. I also remember when we mocked everything up, i used playdoe to check the clearences and there wasnt very much play between the valve and valve relief. Ill see if i cant get him to find his papers and let ya know

Dude, it was a sh*t ton of "hurry up and wait" time. It wasnt even my car and i was getting anxious. In just the heads alone, he had about 1800 in those. and If im remembering right, that was in total. New valves, springs, keepers, guides, seals, 5 angle valve job. the Labor was high but for what come out of the motor in its first pass, i'll recommend the shop anytime.

$1800 in a set of gm heads?
