never ever ever ever buy a thumpr ever! no matter what the use is! the xe268 is a fun cam for my vortec 355 could bennifit from a 1800 or equivilent stall but the stock one doesnt have any problems burning the tires off!! I have a limited slip posi 3.73 for my el camino and it lays to black strips down everywhere it goes! whats the combustion chamber size of the heads? compression ratio is very important!

Anything over 280 will need a torque converter, and jegs has cheap cam and lifter sets for about $120 that are more than likely made by comp or crane

Right now I think I'm leaning toward the XE268, does anyone have a video of this in their car? I found some on Youtube and it sounded pretty lopey and mean, and I'm just thinking this might be the better cam for what I want.

I have one of mine, im at school Ill post it again when Im at home......

Sweet man, anyone know why it sounds so different car to car with similar setups?

prob exhaust, im about to put full length compared to shortys, it has a cat and two old turbo mufflers, and idle is still set kinda high, plus cameras always mess up sound. I like it though its just loud enough, you know its not stock its gota little lope too it but nothing serious.

Okay so I found out that the heads I'm picking up are cast iron, 2.02/1.60, 62cc and I was told it was a 10:1 Compression. Also coming with roller rockers. I have the 2 cams sitting in the garage, I was advised by my buddy to go with the Lunati, but what kind of stall converter should I pick up? And what kind of power can I expect from this setup?

well, how much do the heads flow? a casting number would work out great, and I would bet that you make more torque and horses with a xe268 rather the lunati, the bracket master is a great cam for a braket car with good heads. I dont know about stall since Im not sure on the specs but atleast a 2200 im sure....
