whats going on g-body'S ............ WELL I HAVE A REAL WEIRD QUESTION.... i got a 83 olds cutlass supreme and i sold my 307 to a mechanic. well when the car came back to me the front end was sitting up high.. so i thought oh its just the weight from the motor out....... so here recently i dropped my 350 sbc still empty on fuilds and the front is still high i put my own weight (260 lbs. ) on a corner of the car to push down and it feels like its lock in......the shocks and springs are still original.....has this happen to any one who has done a engine swap??????

no i haven't it has not rolled just from the back of a flatbed wrecker truck straight into my garage........

if you have stock springs in the front they wouldn't have moved so I think if you move the car it'll give the front end a chance to settle

I kinda had the same problem, except I did an engine swap and rebuilt the front suspension. The springs were sitting uncompressed for around 2 years. After I got the front suspension together with the engine/trans already in the car, I set it on the wheels to tighten up the control arm bushings. The car was still sitting pretty high even though I tightened the bushings with the weight of the car on them. What I did was put 150 pounds worth of sand bags on one side, then I re-torqued the bushings, I did the same thing for the other side. Doing it that way lowered the car probably 2 or 3 inches. It is still a little high, but once I start driving it, the springs should settle more.

okay thanks guys i thought my mechanic did a sneaky move and swapped out my stock springs for some 4x4's

You pay someone to work on your car? Why?
