Has anyone heard of or know anything about Nason finishes by Dupont?
when i said valspar earlier i meant Nason :blam:. I was actually on the phone ordering valspar to paint a front door for my future father in law.
Nason has the 2k urethane line. thats the single stage. As for the bc/cc i honestly cant say, I'm doing customer work so i always use dupont base. but any work i do anymore i always use Nason clear.

I've been using Nason exclusively for about ten years now and am pleased with the results. No problems with sealers, primers, 2K Urethane or Base/clear. Have switched to low VOC base and clears now and am liking it.
With critical matches, I prefer the high end base but, still use Nason clears over top.

I’m not a painter by any means, but can usually do a decent driver
quality job. Years ago I would use nothing but Dupont Centari (acrylic enamel) and was very happy with it somewhere along the line it seems the formulation changed and so I stopped using it and have been hunting for something I’m really happy with since.

Personally I stay away from BC/CC systems due to the brutal sun out here in AZ. I’ve done a few jobs with Nason single stage urethane and it does a reasonable job for a cheaper paint. On the one’s I wanted a bit better job on I used Omni SS urethane which seemed to flow out a bit nicer (I’m still using a siphon feed gun, as I just couldn’t get use to the gravity feed guns.....old dog new tricks jada jada jada). The urethanes seem to be holding up exceedingly well and the only thing to keep in mind with them is that if you plan on cutting and buffing the paint job it needs to be done within 24 hours of laying the paint down.

On the El Camino I just did I took a chance on the Nason acrylic enamel, which is a really inexpensive (relatively speaking) paint. It flowed out extremely well although I still planning to go back and cut and buff it but with the enamel that can be done anytime. The paint has only been on for a couple of months at this point so I really don’t have any idea on how well it’s going to hold up yet.
