Hey guys, just had a few quick questions for everyone! Now that my motor has been done, I want to think about upgrading some suspension stuff. I was thinking about starting with just a set of shocks and springs and see where that gets me. Car has a built 305, maybe around 300hp...and I drive it almost every day in the summer so it's nothing too wild. I'd like a set of shocks that still have a really good ride, I've heard good thing about Bilsteins. As for springs, I'd like a slight drop, maybe 1"-1.5" front and about 1" in the back, just enough to give it a "stance"

Also, we checked the rear end and gears in my Monte, and it looks like i've got a 3:73 non-posi. A friend picked up a 3:73 Posi rear end out of an '86 Monte...is it going to be worth the swap for me?

Thanks again everyone for the help!

I have heard good things about those Edelbrock shocks. Plus they have a lifetime warrenty, so you never need to buy shocks again.

yea I would swap in the posi rear it is easy to do with simple hand tools just swap housings and all

How much does your friend want for the posi rear?

Got a p/n on the Edelbrock Shocks?? Anyone else use them? He doesn't want much for the rear end, actually I can probably get it on a trade.

I have a set of Eibach springs waiting to be installed, but won't be til next year sometime. They are about a 1-2" drop so it would give the drop you want without going too far. As far as shocks, I am looking at the Edelbrock myself.

Cool. I will check into the Edelbrock shocks. I thought I wanted Eibach springs but have heard that the ride is kind of harsh and that Hotchkis were the way to go? Anyone run those?

Alright so it's getting to be about crunch time to buy this stuff, lol. I am thinking Edelbrock shocks, but what do you guys reccommend for springs? I want the best overall ride quality with a little bit of a stance. Also thinking about changing over to poly bushings in the front...do they make a whole kit?
