hey guys I'm pretty much a new guy to the g body life bought a 83 regal roller about a month ago an have been doing little things to it, i had to cut the old motor mounts off cause whoever had the car before me welded them in place. got new OE mounts from napa an order energy suspension inserts drilled out the stock rivets an installed the urethane inserts and mounted them on the cross member. now I was trying to decide on what kinda motor to put in an was gonna go sbc 383 an keep it simple but a buddy of mine talked me into a 5.3 lm7 swap so thats what i did was able to find a full swap including the harness an all, now this is where i need the help the power steering pump pulley is hitting the steering box an wont let the motor drop down far enough is there a relocation kit I can get to move the pump or do i have to change the steering box? also i do know ill need to get a different oil pan but im just trying to get everything mocked up an fitted right now, still haven't handled the transmission part yet but a th400 is what i want to do just to make it a little easier. please tell me everything im doing wrong an how to make it right thanks.

You can't move the steering box so you will have to move the pump. Unless you use a rack&pinon.

There are a couple of guys here that have the 5.3's so I'm sure they will help you out.

The consensus is that the Truck accessories won't work on a car. You need a car set up.

Sounds like you need different mounts to me. I personally wouldn't use the truck accessories in one of our cars but it can definately be done. Check out the mounts from Holley. Also, check out the sticky in the LS swap section.

Welcome to the site from Houston. Lets see some pics of your ride.

With the exception of the air conditioning compressor the truck accessories fit a g body just fine. It's been documented many times and I run them in my car. As Texas82GP eluded to you need the correct motor mounts. You will need to swap out your oil pan. Holley has the best and most complete G body swap system hands-down. Check out their website
