Back when I was running stock size rims and tires on still stock Regal I tried out a few brands.

I will rate them in my experience:

1: Indy Firehawks
2: Coopers and Summitomas
3. Radial TA's
4: Eagle Goodyears

The Indy's were fairly inexpensive and I always had good luck with longevity and traction. The Coopers and Summis were about the same. They had good characteristics but I seemed to wear them out faster then I felt I should. Radial TA's started off good, but longer I drove them worse they seemed to get even w/ decent tread they seemed to harden up and suck for traction. Goodyears pretty much I won't buy again. I never had a set that I like especially for the price. These are only my opinions based on My experience, someone else may have the exact opposite.

I dislike Firestone and Pathfinder b/c they put me road-side w sudden blowouts. I've got BFG TA on 1 Cutlass and I would say they're a very durable fantastic tire great for longevity - Terrible in the snow. Not quite an F but a D easily in the snow. The coopers are better in the short run. They have great handling and agility up to all moderate weather but they don't last nearly as long as a BFG TA so you get what you pay for. I would choose the TA every time - except winter time. The TA's are a bit outdated so they don't bite into the pavement if you encounter body roll over ice it can be quite scary for a few seconds. A down south guy would probably opt for the TA's every time since he would encounter ice less than 10 days a year but an east coaster would be way better off w the coopers.

I live at high elevation - lots of sunshine. Michelins may be worth the money if you put lots of miles on them quickly. But - let Michelins sit out in the sun for a year or two, and the sidewalls start cracking and fall apart long before the tread wears down.
