Im quite surprised at everyone... whens the last time youve seen one and how much did it sell for?

Im VERY surprised as well, clearly theres a bunch of people that have NO IDEA just how hard it is to find them in nice shape with minimal rust and nice luster to the chrome, let alone finding one or any in excellent to NOS condition. 8 years or so ago i bought a full set of 4 OEM 15X7 SSIII rims in nice shape with very minimal rust in the bead joints and valleys, off a member on 442.com, i paid $500.00 plus shipping and felt i did well. Still keeping in mind that id really like to still end up owning a nicer set someday. I put them on my 86 cutlass supreme and they looked so good from just my stock 14X6 painted ralley rims. I then about 4-5 years ago came across an ebay listing for 4 EXCELLENT condition OEM 15X7 SSIII NO rust, shiny chrome and painted gold centers in original used condition and felt SO lucky that after winning the bid and paying $650.00 + shipping, that i now have a super nice set of wheels, and sold the other set of 4 on ebay and basically upgraded from decent to SUPER for less than $150.00, and i wouldve paid that again or more, considering since 8 years ago ive seen NO full sets for sale and when singles or sets are seen they are still in need of rechroming or refurbishing. Original 15X7 SSIII wheels in great condition are like dinosaurs.........basically they are EXTINCT!

hi guys,i'm going this weekend to try to get the wheel.if i get it and want to sell it how would i pack it for shipping? it seems that these are hard to find i dont want it damaged in shipping so what would be the best way to pack it? i just put off selling a set of olds #5 heads because i'm afraid of shipping damage.

I have one aftermarket Specialty Wheels SSIII on my '86 442. I bought it a few years ago replace one of the factory wheels I thought was bent. I just looked at it last night and the backspacing of the Specialty wheel is 4" and the factory wheel is 3 5/8". You can see where the inside weight on the Specialty wheel was rubbing the tie end (hard left turn.)

$250 for one wheel? Thats crazy imo. I gotta ask, whats the big deal about a rim that hasnt been mounted before when for the price that you pay for that ONE you could find a decent set or spend alittle more for all 4. Im not trying to start a pissing match here im just simply wondering.
My friend bought a set of 4 NOS for 2100 two years ago.. 250 for a nos G body olds 442 rim is not a bad price frm my point of view....

Dave you can have the nicest spare wheel in your trunk if you keep it.

picked up the wheel today 😀 he did not budge on the price but i think i got a fair deal. he told me he might have more never installed cutlass stuff so i didn't want to lowball him and loose out on some stuff i might need in the future.if i knew how to post pic's i'd show you guys what i wish my other 3 rims looked like.

It would be a shame to have only 1 mint wheel when the other 3 don't look very nice. If I were you I would just sell that NOS wheel to me.
