Hey guys, glad I came across this forum. I am 22 and I have been a G Body guy for a while now, and I still love them!
I bought my first 1978 El camino when I was 15 for 500 bucks, just a fun project to do with my dad. It was rotted badly but had a decent motor. I will post a picture so you can see it before and after. I did end up selling it when my dad retired in 2010. It was more of just a car to practice doing body work, and my dad wanted me to work on it to be productive and learn about cars. From there I started to seriously get into cars and spent a lot of evenings and weekends working on it. If you want to know more about the custom work I did to it let me know.
Now, its 2014 and 1 month ago I followed my dream of buying another g body el camino. This time a 1982 with a 1980 front end and it has a lot of work done to it! It's still got a long way to go but it's in much better shape than previous old el camino I had. For more info on it let me know, and I will respond.
Anyways, thanks for taking the time to read about me, and look forward to learning and sharing on the forum.
PS; If anyone needs help with newer engine tuning (1996 and up), I have a bit of experience in that area. I think you'll know why I picked this 82 when you see what's under the hood!
