For anyone interested, there seems to be a new regional category called Classic American Muscle (CAM) for SCCA autocross this year. This class is mostly aimed at getting people with cars like ours to participate in the action. So far, there are very few solid restrictions. Must be a domestic, front-engine, rear-drive, insured, street-legal, minimum 3000lb, "finished-interior" car. And tire treadwear rating has to be 200 or higher (numerically). That's mostly it. No restrictions on year, drivetrain, suspension, brakes, electronics, or steering. That's a little uncommon in the world of autocross when you're not talking about fully-prepped racing machines.
Now like I said, it's a regional class so every region might have a slightly altered rule set for the class, but if you've been thinking about weaving through some cones in your g-body, muscle car, hot rod, or new Mustang/Camaro/Challenger, then this might be an interesting year to do it.

It's a little unbalanced right now since (as far as I know) a stock '75 Nova could end up racing a tuned Solstice GXP, but I'm more so hoping that this new class will just improve attendance from the classic car demographic. At most events I'm all by myself in a sea of Miatas with no one to relate to.
